Former Nashville Predators defenseman and current color analyst for the Preds radio network, Hal Gill, believes Roman Josi deserves to take home the Norris Trophy during his interview with Darren McFarland and Willy Daunic on Darren, Daunic & Chase.
Josi was named a finalist for the Norris, a trophy awarded to the NHL’s best defenseman, on Monday along with John Carlson from the Washington Capitals and Victor Hedman from the Tampa Bay Lightning. The nomination is the first of Josi’s career and many around the league, like Gill, believe that Josi has the edge over Carlson despite trailing Carlson in some of the NHL’s more traditional stats like goals, assists and points.
Gill says that Josi’s ability to carry an entire team gives him the advantage over Carlson.
